Cinco de Quatro: No HAHAhabla (A Comedy Night w/ Reena Calm)

May the 4th be with you as you try to understand this show title! The Barrel is back with another holiday ripoff. Come catch the coolest comedy this side of the Mississippi on Saturday Night! Celebrate Cinco De Mayo for a reason none of us remember which is also probably offensive with the best comedy show in KC. Headlined by the hilarious, Reena Calm. And Featuring some of our favorite Locals: Lisa Pockets, Alec M. Bachman, and Jim Meyers

About your Headliner:
Reena Calm is an East Coast Jew turned Chicago favorite, and one of the most respected and requested comedians in the Midwest. Pulling from a lifetime of questionable choices, Reena’s material is autobiographical, silly, and charmingly inappropriate. Reena is a featured regular at the Laugh Factory and performs all over the country on her signature #CalmedyTours. She loves a good fest! Some of the best were Accidental Comedy Festival, Birmingham Comedy Festival, Milwaukee Comedy Festival, Let’s Fest, Burning Bridges Festival, Turnbuckle Fest, The Comedy Exposition, Flyover Comedy Invasion, and Just For Laughs Chicago. Reena has been a frequent guest on WGN Radio, the Doug Loves Movies podcast, and she was named Comic of The Week on The Jackie & Laurie Show. Check out her first book “Once A Pun A Time…” here: http://a.co/cAZpbVm. She’s been called “also terrific” by the Chicago Tribune, and “not a disappointment” by her mother.

Panic! @ the Barrel w/ Kris Pierce

There's one thing we know fans of comedy will be doing on 4/20: laughing. If you're looking for somewhere to do that, the Barrel is hosting TWO amazing acts, Panic! and comedian Kris Pierce.

Panic! hosted by James Doyle and Dante Powell is a stand up comedy show bringing you the highs and lows of comedy as they project random topics and ideas (from the mundane "Tell Us About Your First Kiss?" to the obscure "What Would A Katt Williams Oscar Acceptance Speech Sound Like?") onto a screen for performers to make up material about on the spot. Be it stories, jokes, interpretive dances, or anything in between, the show treats the audience to a brand new experience every time, as prepared material is NOT ALLOWED!

Our headliner, Kris Pierce has quickly cemented himself as a powerfully unique voice in the American comedy community. When not opening for the likes of Kyle Kinane, Sam Tallent, and Sean Patton, Kris has managed to make his hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas a comedy destination by sheer force of will. Alongside his best friend, Buddy, he co-hosts the wildly successful Death Metal Dicks podcast, a show about heavy metal, comedy, and murder. While most metalheads are soft, Kris is a legitimate threat on and off the mic: a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and tours the country refereeing tournaments for the North American Grappling Association.

BoTB Presents: Ruff Ryders' Anthem - Compilation vol. 3

It's another comedy night at the Barrel! It's March of 2019 and you haven't had fun, or listened to DMX's hit classic: "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" in a few years. Let's change both of those tragedies!

Your Headliner is the incredibly fun and hilarious, Dan Alten. We asked Dan if he any statement he would like to make. Here is what we received:

Hello, I’m Dan Alten. I drive around in my poorly maintained car bringing you that intelligently surreal nonsense the hip young kids just can’t get enough of. I’ve done stand up in 23 states, I’ve opened for Kyle Kinane, Rory Scovel, Sean Patton, David Liebe Hart, rapper Open Mike Eagle, and cool punk bands like GRLWOOD and Boner City. I have a mustache, a college education, and I’m not afraid to use props. Please come to the show, if you don’t like it you can punch me in the arm.

She's been heard on Sirius XM's Raw Dogs comedy channel, seen on "Girls Behaving Badly", Viceland's "Party Legends", and, for a quick second in 2010, "Last Comic Standing". Since 2014, she's produced and hosted her own nationally touring story show, "Dirty Birdie Story Hour"

Brandon Judd grew up in a cornfield surrounded by real men who wore boots. He overcame adversity to win 4 spelling bees and wear a Ghostbusters uniform for Halloween for 3 years. Abandoning the finance industry for the glamorous world of standup comedy, he explores themes of not fitting in, nerd culture, and cats with wordplay and stories from his life that anyone can relate to. A regular at the Helium Comedy Club in St. Louis, he has performed with Gilbert Gottfried, Kevin Pollak, Hari Kondabolu, Randy and Mr. Lahey, Kurt Braunohler, and many more.

Angela Smith is a St. Louis based stand-up comic and friend to animals
everywhere. On stage, she thinks out loud about the world and her
encounters with it in a way that audiences find relatable and
(usually) hilarious. Angela was a finalist in the 2018 Funny Bone
comedy competition and has most recently opened for Nikki Glaser and
Michael Ian Black.

Mishka Shubaly in KCMO w/ Jake Flores and Susanna Lee

On May 26th, award-winning author, musician, storyteller, comedian, and/or all-around raconteur, Mishka Shubaly, adds a rare stop in Kansas City to his current US tour. He’ll probably do all your current and past favorites, as well as that hot sh*t from his brand new album “When We Were Animals”. And if that isn’t enough to justify you giving an extra $10 worth of plasma this month, there’s also additional stagetime being eaten up by comedian/brunette/tarot dude, Jake Flores, and comedian/storyteller/irresponsible bartender, Susanna Lee.

Show starts at 8pm, and is held at Kansas City's newest underground comedy hub, Barrel Of The Bottoms. This place is so exclusive that a door-person has to escort your fancy ass into the building, and it’s so intimate that there’s only a total of 40 tickets being sold. With that in mind, you should probably get those sexy tickets now.
